IIHMR University Students Conduct Nukkad Natak on Jan Dhan-Adhar- Mobile Yojna Creating Awareness on the Need for Financial Inclusion

Renowned for his bold moves, the Honourable Prime minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi has been focusing on the fundamental issues of the country’s citizens from day 1 of his tenure. As a result, he had introduced various campaigns and programs including Make In India, Digital India Campaign, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Swacch Bharat Abhiyan and many more, specifically focusing on a sustainable lifestyle for Indians. One of his efforts in doing the same also includes the Pradhan Mantri Jan dhan Adhaar and Mobile Yojana (JAM), for the fruitful and beneficial up-lift of the masses by spreading a word and enlightening them towards financial literacy. To support this crucial cause and leverage JAM amongst all, the students at the IIHMR University joined hands and conducted a street play (Nukkad Natak) on March 17^th to explain the need and importance of JAM Trinity to the beneficiaries.

AM trinity commonly refers to the government of India’s initiative to link all the Jan Dhan accounts with mobile numbers and Adhar cards to plug the leakage of government subsidies. It plans to directly transfer subsidies to their intended beneficiaries and eliminate any intermediaries through linking the three necessary branches of the programs.

Talking about the University’s efforts in educating people creatively Dr. Sadhu further expressed,“IIHMR University has always been focused in delivering quality education not just through theory but also through a practical experience. Since actions speak louder than words, a strong visual presentation of such important governmental programs is not only an easier but also an extremely effective way. The main motive to do so is to inform and educate the masses starting from the grass root level. Strong financial literacy right from the ground level, in future, would build a strong economic system for the country.”
