All eyes are on Alibaugh as construction begins on ace cricketer Virat Kohli’s second home with Avas Living. Finalised in the last quarter of the year, the signing was in the spotlight with Virat also representing the luxury wellness residential development as their Wellness Ambassador.

Virat’s expansive villa follows a biophilic design philosophy aligning with nature with a free flow of greenery inside and outside the home. A facet that the couple incorporates in all their living spaces along with clean contemporary lines with a few accents. “I want my second home to be my oasis. This sense of calm has to be reflected in the decor with soothing colours, nothing too loud, lots of natural sunlight and lots of outdoor space,” says Virat. With this theme in mind, the Avas team presented a few mood boards to Virat all following a subtle design philosophy, an amalgamation of contemporary chic and the charm of the Konkan coast. 

Advising, guiding and customising each nuance of each and every requirement, the design process itself is an experience in luxury with the team guiding the villa owner in every step of the process. Right from choosing the upholstery, feature highlights to the layout of the pool deck, everything at the villa is customised to suit specific preferences and lifestyles.

Inside Virat’s home, one can expect a current rustic charm with minimalistic design having a cleaner palette of beiges and neutrals. Modern furniture with hints of jute latticework adds a touch of lightness to the space and infuses it with a laid-back chic Californian vibe. “Besides a clear vision for the decor of the villa, Virat also wanted us to incorporate cutting-edge technology. His villa is embedded with wellness technology and we have largely automated most spaces of the home,” shares Founder and CEO Aditya Kilachand about the technology enthusiast.

For the garden, there is much play within the indigenous flora and fauna and outdoor furniture to design a space that maximises the pleasures of being away from the concrete jungle, complete with an organic garden on the behest of Virat who believes in the farm-to-fork philosophy.
