AjnaLens (Dimension NXG Pvt. Ltd.) announced a total fundraise of US$ 1.5 Mn led by Maharashtra Defence and Aerospace Venture Fund (MDAVF) and other HNI investors like Nailesh Khimji, Chirayu Khimji, Jay Jesrani & Mohsin Group in its pre-series A round.

Founded in November 2014 by Pankaj Raut, Abhishek Tomar and Abhijit Patil, AjnaLens is a company driven by innovators, thinkers, explorers and creative geniuses who are on a common pursuit of bringing a positive change in society from grassroots leveraging AR, VR, MR and AI technologies. AjnaLens develops breakthrough mixed reality glasses for Defence, Education, and Enterprise customers.

The startup will primarily use the funds to enhance its Defence offering, manufacturing headsets, improving technology and product capabilities. Apart from this it intends to invest this fund for talent acquisition and market expansion.

On their investment Amey Belorkar, Vice President - IDBI Capital Markets & Securities Ltd. & Investment Manager of MDAVF commented, “Dimension has developed a high quality MR product for the defence sector - AjnaBolt. It is an excellent solution for enhancing the capability and empowering our armed forces and internal security personnel. In addition, the product also has varied applications.”

Before this round, Dimension NXG had raised Angel Funding and counts Vijay Shekhar Sharma (Founder I CEO - One97 & Paytm), Japan Vyas (Founder at Roots Ventures, Previously Co-founder & Managing Partner at Sixth Sense Ventures), Chetan Kajaria (Joint Managing Director at Kajaria Ceramics), Manish Bhatia (Director Bhatia Brothers), Jay Jesrani (Partner at Mountain Lion Partners) and few other angel investors among its investors.

Signalling the confidence in the Ajnalens team and products, previous investors like Jay Jesrani (Partner at Mountain Lion Partners) Nailesh Khimji and Chirayu Khimji of Khimji Ramdas Group (seed investors) reinvested in the current round.

On this occasion Nailesh Khimji said, "I am already seeing interesting use cases of AjnaLens in our business training, operations, and maintenance. AjnaLens will surely have path-breaking use cases in defence and medical areas."
