BEL Hosts Vigilance Training Programme

Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) hosted a two day training programme for Vigilance Officers of Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) and Directorate General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance (DGAQA) at its facility in Bangalore on September 5 and 6, 2014. It was organized by the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

The training programme was inaugurated by Mr S K Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, BEL. Other dignitaries who graced the inaugural include Mr P Dwarakanath, CMD, BEML, Mr S Shiva Kumar, Chief Vigilance Officer, BEL, Mrs Kavitha Kestur, CVO, BEML & HAL, and Mr R K Shekhawat, Director (Vigilance), MoD.

The training programme covered various topics like the role of the CBI and its co-ordination with the Vigilance Department, overview of the vigilance organization, CTE type of inspection, investigation of complaints, writing of investigation reports, framing of charge memo and dealing with disciplinary cases.

The training programme was informative, interactive and provided valuable inputs to the vigilance officers. The programme sought to improve the quality of vigilance administration across the DPSUs, OFB and other Defence establishments and to ensure uniformity in vigilance administration in all the establishments under the MoD umbrella.

In the concluding session, Mr M L Shanmukh, Director (HR), BEL, addressed the participants. Certificates were given to the 54 participants from DPSUs, OFB and other Defence establishments.
