CNN-IBN Presents Assembly Elections Special: Battle for Jammu & Kashmir

Nov 27, 2014   17:47 IST
India

Against the backdrop of ongoing Assembly Elections in Jammu & Kashmir, CNN-IBN presents a special report on the Battle for Jammu & Kashmir to highlight the mood of the electorate in the state. This 30 minute special will throw light on India’s most troubled state facing major issues such as militancy, cross border terrorism and a deeply vitiated socio-political environment.

The political scenario in the state has also redefined with all the 4 major political parties contesting on their own. On the one hand, the ruling Omar Abdullah government is facing the issue of anti-incumbency and seems to have a challenging battle ahead. The BJP which has been traditionally hawkish on Kashmir, is looking to build on its nation-wide momentum and win the state for the very first time. The PDP and the Congress will also try to turn in a strong performance in these elections.

All these nuances and dynamics undoubtedly make the J&K Election among the most intriguing elections to understand and cover in India.

Don’t miss the special episode of Battle for Jammu & Kashmir on Saturday, 29nd November @ 08:00 PM and Sunday, 30th November @ 12 noon and 9.30 PM, only on CNN-IBN.
