Delhi Edition of TCS IT Wiz 2014 on November 8

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions firm, announced that the Delhi edition of TCS IT Wiz2014 will be held on Saturday, November 8, at Dogra Hall, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi.

High school students studying in class 8-12 (including Pre University of Junior college students) can participate. There is no entry fee. Each institution is allowed to send 10 teams of two-members each to participate.

TCS IT Wiz 2014 is held across 14 locations in India - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Pune.

Quiz format: The top six teams from the written prelim will qualify for the regionals finals. Only the top scoring team from each school will be called on stage in the event of multiple teams from the same school qualify for the final. The winner from the Regional finals will contest in the Mega finals along with the UAE team, to be held in December.

The Regional champions this yearwill walk away with an iPad air eachwhile the runners-up will be rewarded iPad minialong with a specially designed trophy and medals. The 6 finalists will also receive an array of prizes from TCS ranging from space pack, sippers, earphones, USB pen drive, speakers, and more.

Tweet and earn Mileage: The regional finals will have a Twitter contest for all the participants and the top two winners will receive Bluetooth speakers. The twitter contest will also involve a mileage earning system where every tweet will earn a point, tweet with picture 3 points and retweets will fetch 5 points. The student with highest tweet point across the 14 cities will win a trip to Mumbai to witnessMega finals of TCS IT Wiz.

TCStweetwiz: Three questions will appear on the screen and students can tweet their answers to the handle @TCStweetwiz during the correction break and the top three on first come first basis along with all correct answers will receive themselves a boom headphone each. 

Subject: The Quiz will mainly focus on applications of Information Technology across various sectors and aspects including technology environment, the business, people, new trends and legends. It will also focus on emerging areas such as cloud computing, telecom, biometrics, robotics, world of Internet, unique web sites, IT buzzwords and acronyms.  The Quiz will also cover areas where IT has made an impact - education, entertainment, books, multimedia, music, movies, internet, banking, advertising, sports, gaming, social networking, blogging, cell phones, etc.
