HERD Foundation Organises School Health Camp and Basic Life Support Training, at Bhandarbodi, Ramtek on August 19, 2014

Dr. Amol Deshmukh provides healthcare opportunity to over 25000 people of rural Nagpur

HERD (Health Education Rural Development) Foundation, today announces a healthcare camp and Basic Life Support (BLS) training, for ASHA workers and school teachers, at ZP school (Zilla Parishad), market area, Bhandarbodi, Ramtek Taluka, Maharashtra, on August, 19, 2014, from 11:00 hours to 16:00 hours. The school health camp will provide services like medical screening, diagnostics and treatment of common diseases, amongst others.

 

Dr. Amol Deshmukh, founder and Managing Director, HERD Foundation, said, “I am elated to be able to help the people of Ramtek Taluka. Looking at the success of our 18 medical camps held in the last three months, where over 25000 people benefited from the medical facilities provided by HERD Foundation, during the various healthcare campsites held in various villages including NavegaonKhairi, Hiwra Bazar, Wadamba, Nagardhan, Kachurwahi, Dulara, Deolapar, Pindkapar, Ramtek and Chacher. I am confident that many more people will benefit from the medical camp to be held in Bhandarbodi, on August 19, 2014”.

 

The medical camp organised by HERD Foundation, on August 8, 2014, at the Kuldip Hall, Kanhan, Maharashtra, treated over 2000 people who took benefit of free medical consultations and treatment provided by eight medical departments of NKP Salve Institute of Medical Sciences, Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, VSPM Dental College, VSPM Nursing College and VSPM Physiotherapy College, alongwith their respective teams of doctors, nurses and medical attendants. The mega medical camp in Kanhan village, offered multiple specialty healthcare services including, Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Dental, ENT, X ray and even a minor OT facility, all under one roof, for the people of Ramtek Taluka. Highly qualified doctors examined over thousands of visiting patients and investigated over 150 in-patient referral cases, including 50 PFT, over 60 X-rays, 64 ECGs, over 80 Blood Sugar tests and performed surgical procedures including 8 minor surgeries and 7 dental extractions, all in one day, at the campsite.

 

Shri Rajesh Yadav, Panchayat Samiti Sadasya, inaugurated the free medical camp organised by HERD Foundation on August 8, 2014, at Kanhan, Maharashtra. He said, “Probably for the first time Kanhan village has witnessed such a beneficial medical camp. Dr.Amol R. Deshmukh, through HERD Foundation, has addressed the very core requirement of our society. I am happy to see that the people are making good use of the medical facilities set up at this healthcare camp and hope they will benefit from the teachings and learn the importance of good hygiene and preventive healthcare, imparted by the specialized doctors at this medical camp, especially during the ongoing monsoon season“.

 

Over 25000 people used the medical facilities at 18 mega healthcare camps held across Ramtek Taluka, including medical camps held in Police Line Takli on Dec 8, 2013, and Parseonion December 16, 2013, where each camp registered over 4000 patients. In addition, 7 small medical camps were held in Parsodipet, Parsodi, Sihora, Kerdi, Kolitmara, Pardi and Ambazari villages in Nagpur district, Maharashtra. Patients were examined by general physicians, specialists, dentists, and a team of paramedics, through one on one consultation, to check for debilitating health conditions including medical conditions relating to general discomfort, gynaecological issues, joint pains, dental issues, ENT, eye and ailments, malnutrition, back pain and oral lesions. Cases with serious medical conditions were suitably offered referrals to nearby hospitals.
