Power Grid’s Profit After Tax (PAT) Crosses Rs.5000 Crore | ||
India Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a ‘Navratna’ Company and the ‘Central Transmission Utility (CTU)’ of the country, has posted a Profit After Tax of Rs.5,046 crore on consolidated basis, surpassing Rs.5,000 crore mark for the first time.
The Company has posted a net profit of Rs. 1,412 crore for the fourth quarter of FY 2014-15 (January-March, 2015), a growth of 20% with respect to corresponding period of FY 2013-14. The company has registered a net profit of Rs.4,979 crore over a turnover of Rs. 17,780 crore in the FY 2014-15, registering a growth of about 13% in Turnover and 11% in Net Profit compared to FY 2013-14 on standalone basis.
The Company proposed a final dividend of 13.1% in addition to interim dividend of 6.9% paid for the financial year 2014-15.
At present, POWERGRID is operating about 116,500 ckt. kms. of transmission lines along with 194 Sub-stations with transformation capacity of more than 234,000 MVA. With the use of State-of-the-Art maintenance techniques, average Availability of transmission system during the year 2014-15 was maintained at 99.87%.
The Company capitalized assets about Rs.21,760 crore during FY15, which is highest ever in a year and incurred a capital expenditure to the tune of Rs.22,450 crore during the period. The Gross fixed assets of the company stands at Rs. 118,264 crore. |
