Determination of load-bearing capacity is a significant factor that affects the rack selection criteria. Each rack comes with a static and dynamic load rating. Static load rating measures the rack’s load-bearing capacity when it is stationed at fix location, while Dynamic load rating measures its load-bearing capacity when the rack is moved. By choosing the right load rating, equipment damage or collapse can be avoided. It is always advisable to install a heavier load at the bottom. When talking about load-bearing capacity per U, say if the equipment's weight is 240 kgs and the height is 10U, then the recommended load-bearing capacity is 24 kgs per U. 

Another important factor to consider for rack selection is the type of mounting. The Casters or Levellers are made to transfer Point Load, while the Plinth transfers the Distributed load. Say, if the load on rack is 1000 kgs on 4 Levellers, the Point Load on Leveller will be 250 kgs, Floor design to consider this Point load Requirement.
